Does Shape Sand count as sand for the purpose of spells?
Because if it does, I have just found the greatest mount for an Ashanti.
Lots o' Shapesand+Awaken Sand=Fun Times.
Even more fun if you cast Black Sand every so often, to add 1d4 damage to your mount's attacks.
Which could be pretty much anything...
Say, what would be the LA of an Awakened Shapesand?

Thank you for giving my walker in the waste necromancer his new mount. Already his blacksand shovel has made for interesting battles, now his blacksand camel will carry him (and heal him too!)

What kind of creature is a heap of awakened sand?
I suspect, it would be an ooze.
Also Mount is only the first of a lot of funny uses for this:
How about a sentient Full Plate Armor?
Just add Armor Spikes/Blades, cast Black Sand and go grappling something that isn't Undead/Tomb Tainted.

It's a construct. A Huge sized construct.
It's made out of Shapesand too, so it's more your mount+armory+depository of neat stuff.
This is very nice fo Asherati, who can literally swim around the inside.
How many jugs of Shapesand would you need, do you know?
