Absolutely (but I can't promise that Dog will pay much attention)!   :D

I'm trying really really hard not to go into uber military mode.  :p

Hehe, I doubt Dog or Charon would appreciate it :P

On a nother note, I find myself giddy like a schoolgirl for this campaign :P

: Re: C24 HQ
: Nanshork January 26, 2009, 02:15:21 PM
Are you saying you would?  :P

I'm actually more excited about this campaign then some of the others I'm in.  The only one I'm more excited about is the one where I'm the only person with a character sheet in.  :P

Probably
: Re: C24 HQ

I also have a pheromone thing. But mine is positive.  :D
: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell January 26, 2009, 02:52:35 PM
Yes, Dog would be able to smell it.  It would be very distinctive to him, as would David's Pheromone attraction.  Now that I'm thinking about it, it might be strong enough to bother him, depending on whether you want it to or not.  But, they have been working together for a while, so he's probably used to it by now.

Nanshork, you play your character however you want, but remember, he would have had to resign his commission to join up with C24, so he's retired, technically.  So, he can't actually court marshal anyone, but he could wish that he could court martial someone.
: Re: C24 HQ
: Nanshork January 26, 2009, 02:55:35 PM
The fact that David is retired is the reason that I'm trying to prevent myself from going uber militaristic.   :P

I'll get into the groove of my character soon, and I'm sure that I will wish that I could court martial someone eventually, heh.
: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell January 26, 2009, 05:17:16 PM
David crisply says, "Our objectives, sir."

 :twitch :facepalm :lmao

you'd think I would have remembered THAT.  watch me fix it like the director planned it that way.
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw January 26, 2009, 05:43:15 PM
Hehe, smooth :D

I'm now picturing the director like a somewhat older man with some light signs of dementia, kinda like your standard high Int low Wis excentric Wizard or something :P

Bell, can I aid another for hide checks?
I would say so.  I see it working as like you helped whoever by adding to their camouflage or something.  I would think they could also aid another you, too.  seems reasonable.

I'll give you all as much time to plan as you need, and then you'll coincidentally land right as you finish your plans. :smirk

Or, you could all just wing it.  I'm sure either way would be fun.  :D

: Re: C24 HQ

First thing I thought of when I saw that Charon had the Pheromone Repulsion would be Dog giving him shit for not standing downwind, both because of the smell, and also if Dog's trying to get a scent, it could interfere.   :puke
: Re: C24 HQ

: Re: C24 HQ
: Nanshork January 27, 2009, 02:45:55 PM
Go to my character sheet and scroll down to "other notes" and read the leadership ability.  Then look at my reputation bonus and diplomacy check.

That's right, I auto succeed at any aid another check to give a bonus of +7.  :D
: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell January 27, 2009, 02:54:34 PM
It will be about 4:30 AM local time, so it will be dark, but you also have a 45min to an hour drive.  you'll have darkness when you get there, but it will move swiftly towards daylight once you start things along, and the sun will be at your back. (you could use that to your advantage too)

Go to my character sheet and scroll down to "other notes" and read the leadership ability.  Then look at my reputation bonus and diplomacy check.

You guys better have advanced Walkie-talkies.  :P  Remember, I can give all kinds of bonuses due to class abilities.
I have low-light vision.

Bell, would rolling a knowledge:tactics check be helpful?

yes, but it would be most helpful if you waited until you got there and actually see the location, because there may be some avenues that are not immediately known from the dossier, and there may be some other options waiting for you in the car.   :smirk
: Re: C24 HQ

That's...... helpful of you.

That's why I asked if I could aid another on hide.  I'm a helper!  :D
Have you looked at the class abilities of the Field Officer?  Seriously, I'm such an enabler it's like I'm a bard.  :P

Alright, I'll do knowledge:tactics when I know the situation.
: Re: C24 HQ

: Re: C24 HQ
: Nanshork January 27, 2009, 03:13:25 PM

here's (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=3282.msg106033#msg106033) what's on fire.

There are no guards visible in any towers, but right now you're still sort of far away.  To go around, it would take you about until the sun came up to go around to the other side where you originally wanted to, and then you would have the rising sun behind you, so it would be comparable to darkness for anyone who might be watching.

I'm seeing 3 options here:
1) The original guards of the facility included mutants
2) These are the original guards, and the individuals that attacked the facility were mutants
3) These guys have encountered mutants before in some other fashion. Maybe they're anti-mutant guys? Maybe something else?

: Re: C24 HQ

Say guys, from an optimization standpoint, would Burst Fire combined with TWF be worth it?
The extra damage is nice, but I'll get a total -6 penalty on my attack rolls. I've got some plans to eventually get rid of that penalty, but that won't be 'till level 15 or 16...

Should I just stick with Double Tap and TWF for a -4 total or should I just ditch trying to combine any of them and stick with either Double Tap, Burst Fire or TWF?

Also, get your butts back to the game thread, I'm ready for some action :P
: Re: C24 HQ
: j0lt February 08, 2009, 12:55:35 AM
Depends on how high you can get your attack bonus.  If you can maintain a decent attack bonus with those penalties, then go for it!

I've been here, but my d20 books were hidden somewhere in my apartment by my friends, and they have my stuff in them, so I have kinda not been thinking about this as much.  By tomorrow, I'll resolve this little bit, and we can move on, but probably not 'til tomorrow afternoon.  sorry guys.  I realize slow posting kills a lot of PbP, and I don't want that to happen, so don't be afraid to remind me to keep up with this.

Seeing as Gunslinger and Fast both have average BAB...

If FX are allowed I was thinking about dipping (Techno) Mage for the Spellcraft ranks and then continuing in Spellslinger. Full BAB for 5 levels and a total of +4 on your weapon is pretty tasty, but I wouldn't be able to start taking levels in it 'til level 12, so I wouldn't be finished 'til level 16 netting me a BAB of 12 at that point IIRC. Not bad, especially with that +4, but it won't happen for a long time, especially in a PBP, so I'm seriously doubting wether I should commit myself to combining two of those feats already or just go with TWF or Double Tap and dump the rest (or at least wait 'til we reach those higher levels)...

: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell February 09, 2009, 04:18:26 PM
I discovered that my books have been stolen by my friend Taylor.  They are not in my apartment, and I'm sure because I spent an hour tearing it apart and checked literally every possible place that they could be, so I'll have to get them back from her, and that could take until tomorrow or Wednesday.  However, I'll just do the best I can on the fly from what I remember until then, how's that?  I mean, I wrote it all in the first place... so I'll be able to do most of it. The biggest problem is stat blocks.  I don't have any of my stat blocks for people.
: Re: C24 HQ

Say, Bell, regarding my conundrum about TWF, Double Tap and Burst Fire, would you allow me to change some things about my character, seeing as I haven't made any rolls aside from Hide and Move Silently yet?

: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell February 09, 2009, 07:27:59 PM

: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw February 10, 2009, 12:05:41 PM
Are you okay with the use of FX somewhere in the future, Bell?
(looking at the Spellslinger Advanced Class, but I'll need a 1-level dip of Techno Mage for that to get the required Spellcraft ranks...)

: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell February 10, 2009, 12:16:03 PM
I'm going to say no to magic type FX, unless you can come up with some damn good fluff that says it's not magic but gives you the same abilities.  I am cool with any Psionic stuff you want to do, and if you reflavored it to be that, and did it well, then I would consider it.  I would prefer very strongly, however, that you kept the FX to psionics.

BTW, I know I've seen spellslinger, but I can't find it.  Where is it?
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw February 10, 2009, 12:39:56 PM
Spellslinger is in the Urban Arcana Web Enhancement.

Reflavoring to Psionics was something I was thinking about as well, maybe reflavor it to Dean tapping even further into the abilities his enhanced senses grant him and using those to further enhance his shooting ability? Especially since his biggest mutations are sensory ones...

That being said, I just did some number crunching, and even if I dump Charisma even further in favor of Intelligence, I'm going to have to lose 2 points of Hide and 1 point of Move Silently to pull it off.

I would also have to dump Profession leaving me to rely on my team-mates and C24 material for expensive gear.

Any thoughts?
: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell February 10, 2009, 01:00:50 PM
Here are my thoughts:

For Spellslinger, change the Requirement to Psicraft 10 Ranks instead of Spellcraft 10 Ranks.  Then we can call the class something else, like Telekinetic Sniper, or Psychic Gunslinger.  The 5th level class feature Imbue Shot would be altered to work for psionic powers instead of spells.  All the same rules would apply, but you would spend power points to manifest powers instead of spell slots to cast spells.  ... You get the idea.

Try crunching some numbers that way, and see what you come up with.

If you still have to lower the hide and move silently ranks, then I guess I can lower your check result by those bits.  Try not to lose too much of them though.
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw February 10, 2009, 01:18:57 PM
That would require I take a level of Telepath, for which I would need to give up a feat to fit in Wild Talent...
It would also still cost me quite some skill ranks, reducing Hide and Move Silently or completely dumping Profession as well.
I don't have any feat slots to spare, so if it's okay with you I would prefer the reflavoring of Magic FX.
It won't be more than a few 1st level spells, so it's not like I'll turn into the party 'Shaman' or a guy with a pointy hat al of a sudden, and I can limit myself to the few spells that actually enhance my senses and/or shooting ability...

Waddayasay?  :bigeye :flutter ;) :D

EDIT: The spells I was talking about, 3 in total:

0) Prestidigitation - twirling ma guns, no real mechanical effect, but I need something to fill those 0-level slots with :P

1) Magic Weapon
    True Strike

These would be the only spells I'd use...

: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw February 12, 2009, 12:32:04 PM
Have you thought my suggestions over yet, Bell?
I've got some ideas for extra fluff etc. floating around in my head, I can have 'em up by this weekend...

EDIT: Come on guys, let's keep this alive! :D

: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell February 12, 2009, 01:22:52 PM
The thing that's getting to me really is the preparing spells.  I can't see the spell files being Psychic in any way.  How about we take Techno Mage and just replace the spells section from that with the powers section from Telepath. That way you have the same class skills and everything, but instead of spellfiles you have a more psychic feel to your character.

and I haven't forgotten about this, I've just been doing other stuff.  ;)
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw February 13, 2009, 09:07:06 AM
But Telepaths don't get True Strike :P

Anywho, I guess that's fine with me, although I think I can make the prepare stuff work with some reflavoring as well (will post that later today, just to see what you think about it). As for which spells to prepare, it's not like I have much choice if I only know 2 or 3 spells so I could just have the same fixed list for each day :P

alright, you've convinced me. You can have Techno Mage, with the arcane list, but you can't change you spells.  They have to stay the same.  Also, I would still like to hear your reflavoring.

Deal?
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw February 13, 2009, 01:13:15 PM
Deal :)

I'll get a post with my reflavoring ideas up later today :)

: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell February 13, 2009, 08:43:23 PM
@Nanshork:  If you want to throw out a Know.(Tactics) roll, it couldn't hurt, though I can't promise it would help.

@Everyone:  I got my books back, so all is well in the world of Modern-Day Monsters.  Well, not all well, you did murder some of the good guys, but we'll see where that goes.  (Besides, I sort of tricked you into it, so I won't hold you too accountable for it)    :smirk  :D

: Re: C24 HQ

Reflavoring stuff:

Like I mentioned before, aside from an increase in Dexterity Dean's mutations/alterations are all sensory mutations, allowing him to perceive and target his enemies even more efficiently.

That's why I want to limit my spell selection to Magic Weapon and True Strike, since these can easily be reflavored to 'homing in' or 'focusing' on a specific target and attributed to Dean combining his heightened awareness with his years long training and expertise with firearms to lethal result.

Ofcourse an extreme increase in sensory awareness such as Dean experiences due to his mutations can be difficult to cope with for the mind, something 'normal' moreaus generally don't need to since they generally don't have vastly superior senses.

Scientists who work on these specific mutations have foreseen this problem though, and in order to have these enhanced moreaus be able to use the full scope of their abilities, they have deviced a rigorous training program that helps the moreau focus on his senses and 'zone out' any 'background noise' so to speak. Aside from intense physical training and special methods of sensory training this also includes meditation techniques and techniques to assure an efficient rest at night and prevent insomnia and other sleeping disorders as well as the ability to remain focused and aware even after a short period of rest to keep the mind clear and focused.

(Note: this last part is the reflavoring of the preparing of spells. Without a clear mind it's impossible to focus enough to enable some of the extraordinary feats Dean is capable of (namely Magic Weapon and True Strike))

: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell February 17, 2009, 01:10:51 AM
I'll get back to advancing this probably on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, but I have an exam tomorrow plus a bunch of HW to do, so not until then.

: Re: C24 HQ
: Nanshork February 18, 2009, 09:36:22 PM
Bell, you keep making me look things up and the internet won't give a military ranking comparison chart that I can actually read when comparing COs to NCOs.  Does he outrank me or do I outrank him?
: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell February 18, 2009, 09:41:37 PM
Your rank is higher than his, but you're retired, so technically he doesn't have to follow your orders. Protocol dictates that he should, however, differ to you within reason. This (http://www.easternct.edu/personal/faculty/pocock/ranks.htm) is the chart I've been using.  It doesn't compare COs and NCOs except by pay grade, but you're both COs, so technically that doesn't matter for this interaction. I'll try and keep things simpler from now on.

BTW, does anyone notice what all of the soldiers have in common?

EDIT:Nanshork, I almost flipped out because I saw on your Char. Sheet that your rank was Corporal, and that that's what you typed when you introduced yourself, and so a Lieutenant Colonel WAY outranks you, but then I checked the prep thread, and you actually chose Colonel, which is a higher rank that LC. Crisis averted.  I was going to have to change the game thread and the OOC thread, and I didn't really want to do that.

(You may want to edit the post where you said Corporal in the game thread)
: Re: C24 HQ
: Nanshork February 18, 2009, 09:48:56 PM
You told me I was a corporal, which is an NCO.

And I'm not sure what they have in common, but someone's name is Finger.  :P
: Re: C24 HQ

They're all comic book writers, aren't they? :D
: Re: C24 HQ

And artists.  More specifically, they've all written or drawn Batman at some point.    ;)
: Re: C24 HQ

Be patient, Grizzly One. I've got to adequately compose the next bit, and I have class in 40 minutes until 3:30. Expect something either in the next 20 minutes or the next several hours. I will not leave you all hanging for too long.

[shameless plug]

BTW, I decided to start a Shadow Chasers game, so if any of you are interested in that, go ahead and trot on over to the appropriate thread in PbP General.

you'll get it, don't worry.  Weekends are my no-responsibility time. Patience is a virtue.  Besides, I just read Batman R.I.P., so I can't really concentrate on anything else but Batman stuff right now, and how much I hate Grant Morrison for what he made Batman do in Final Crisis #6.  Expect the story to continue tonight.

: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell February 24, 2009, 07:50:27 PM
so, I just realized that I took away all of your weapons, but that you may (or may not) need them soon, so be on the lookout for chances to pick up weapons. (If something happens that requires fighting. I'm not saying there will be fighting, but I'm not saying there won't be.)

sort of.  My computer is messed up, so I can't use it right now.  I realize shit keeps happening in RL right when something is about to move the plot along in the game, but that's life I guess. For now I'm going to say let's pause the game officially for one week so I can get my shit together, and we'll pick up next Tuesday. I won't let this die that easily, but I do need some time without the spectre of my next post hanging over me. So for now, pause.

Discussion during the pause: I would love to hear your theories on what is going on. Conspiracy theories, what happened to the ETC-1 Object, how it was taken, all that.

AAAAaaaaannnnnndddddd............ Discuss.

I would love to hear your theories on what is going on. Conspiracy theories, what happened to the ETC-1 Object, how it was taken, all that.

I'm thinking that there may be an "invisible man" involved, either that or someone who can teleport.  I'm aiming to get Dog into that room to literally sniff around and see if he can't follow the scent to a clue or two.

Yes, it is, and I appreciate the enthusiasm.  However, I have not managed to fix my computer yet. I know what the problem is, (I managed to mess up the GNOME-desktop somehow) but haven't figured out how to fix it. So... I don't really want to start up again yet, since I'm pretty much limited to the computers at school, which is not condusive to gaming. How about to tide you over I'll finish up this little bit and give you a few answers, or at least some new questions.  I've got a meeting in a half hour, but after that I'll continue the story, and at least advance it a little, since I said that today would be the day.

BTW, thanks for sticking with this.  I don't know if I've told you, but this is the first game I've GMed, and I was afraid that my players weren't going to stick with the game and that it would die off, as so many PbPs do.

I have sort-of managed to fix my computer! The graphics card still isn't working right, but at least I can use it again. So I can return to a regular game.  I'm in class right now, but I'll post in the game thread later today.

Okay.... I'm back.  Between exams, then more computer issues, then surgery, then recovery from surgery, then spring break, then more computer issues, then moving back down to Cincinnati, then first day of classes, I haven't had much time for the Internet. But, once I'm done with classes for the day, I'll continue the game. expect something today, and I'll probably be online a good bit today, so the more everyone posts, the more we'll move the plot forward. I have 2 more classes today, so I'll see you around 1:00 pm EST.

BTW, don't think of the thread as having been dead, just in a coma from the stress.   ;)

not really, it's just a sort of long, thin, tall distortion that you can see if you look at it just right. Like if you move to the left or right, it disapears. basically, you happened to stand in the right place to see it.
: Re: C24 HQ

Remnants of some sort of portal/crack in the fabrics of space-time/something else created by a teleporter (who looks and smells like Admiral Ackbar or Zoidberg)?

: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell May 05, 2009, 04:45:16 PM
IT is stargate-esque, but basically on a smaller scale.  Since I don't see it becoming relevant at any point, and you have now seen where it is you ended up, I'll explain this bit of technology the way I envision it.

Note: if you haven't read my game post, do that first before continuing.

What you passes through amounts to a teleporter. The technology has it's limitations, however. The farther you transport the object, the more power it takes. The practical limit for the technology is about the distance between the earth and the sun, so it's no good for interstellar travel, or really even direct interplanetary travel within a solar system. Something like that would take a system of relay stations where you would switch from one teleporter to the next until you get to your destination.

A linked pair of portals is not required, (as you discovered) but it is much more efficient to do so in both time and power, since it takes quite a while to set a portals location when there is not a portal built as an anchor point.

Long story short, you're still on earth, and you used a lot of power to get to your new location.

By the way, the coordinates are in the Brazilian rainforest just north of the amazon river, to save you the trouble of looking them up. but if you do look them up on google earth or google maps, you'll see that there is actually the clearing at those coordinates, and the "grassy road" does go south east. ;)

Wow, you guys are quick to jump on the "Bell has abandoned us" bandwagon.  ;)

Fear not, for this is still living.  In fact, these days, this is pretty much the only thing I still do on the BG boards. Ever since Soulknife was eliminated in the favorite class thread, This is all I've checked and kept up with.

Besides, haven't you guys figured out how it works yet? I post something, then there's a flurry of posts for about a day or two, then nothing happens for 3 days or so, then the cycle starts over.

Anyway, new post over in the game thread once I get it typed up, so look out for that.  :D

Also, I'm glad this is everyone's favorite game, since one, it's my first GMing of any kind, and two, When I first recruited players, and for about the first page or so of the game thread, everything was made up as I went along. I have plans now, but originally I was just winging it. ;)
: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell May 11, 2009, 03:20:51 PM
And since I'm thinking about it, two questions.
1)Did you guys ever decide on a language that you all knew so you could talk in private? I know Romulan was discussed, but I don't think it was discussed very seriously.
2)Also, do any of you fluently speak any language other than English (in real life), preferably Spanish, Portuguese, or something along those lines, or at least know enough to translate things from English into that language?
: Re: C24 HQ
: Nanshork May 11, 2009, 03:24:36 PM
1) No.
2) I know enough Spanish to work with it (usually).  I also own a Spanish to English dictionary from my High School days.
: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell May 11, 2009, 03:31:08 PM
Might I suggest that you do that now, so it can be retconned in?
Don't forget, this teamspeak language is a bonus. It is in addition to any you may have had your character learn by spending skill points, and you get both speak and read/write for this bonus language.
And the reason I ask about spanish is that you have made it to south america, and such languages are spoken there, so I may need someone to translate some text for purposes of authenticity.
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw May 11, 2009, 03:44:24 PM
1) I'm fine with any language really, although I'm afraid that Spanish, German or French would be too 'common' or 'mainstream' for a secret language...

2) The only language aside from English that I really speak fluently is Dutch.

We could just pick a language and post in English in the thread, but announcing we're saying this in our secret language.

Example: [Klingon]"Dog, attack they're left flank!"[/Klingon]

Just some thoughts :)
: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell May 11, 2009, 03:52:40 PM
I agree, just saying something in english is doable, but not as authentic as writing in the actual language. the reason I was asking is that for example, only one character knows spanish, so it would be up to him to translate any spanish you might come across, but if I wrote in english, then everyone would just know what was being said.

But yes, for your teamspeak language, using english and just saying it's whatever language is perfectly acceptable.
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw May 11, 2009, 04:06:14 PM
Cool :)

So, you guys have any ideas? Klingon would be rare enough I think, but are our characters big enough geeks to actually speak it fluently? :P

Still here. Waiting for Bell to tell us where the path leads and if we find anything interesting :)

Sorry, kinda juggling a lot of games right now, would anybody mind controlling Charon for me while I try to sort out all my chars and notes?

Hear Ye, Hear Ye!

By the end of the day today, there should be an update. Don't expect a particularly long one, as I have tons of work today, but there will be some continuation by the end of the day. Also, I am planning on updating again tomorrow. I will not, however update this weekend, as I will be away from the internet from early Friday morning until late Sunday.

That is all.
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw May 27, 2009, 04:27:11 PM
Looking forward to it :)

Have fun during the weekend ;)
: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell May 28, 2009, 06:54:12 PM
Okay, so I lied, and for that i apologize. I ended up having way more stuff to do yesterday evening than I thought, and I went to bed early because I had to get up really early this morning.  But I'm headed over to the game thread now, so you all will get a post shortly.
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw May 29, 2009, 02:24:45 AM
Yay, goblins! :P

(Or whatever they are...)
: Re: C24 HQ
: j0lt May 29, 2009, 02:48:54 AM
I figure the unidentified smell of these things would send Dog into fight-or-flight mode.  Hope they taste good!  ;)
: Re: C24 HQ
: Nanshork May 30, 2009, 01:41:29 AM
I'm going on vacation for a month starting tomorrow.  Internet access is going to be sporadic as I'm not sure where I'll be staying when.  If this ends up posing too much of a problem you can pull my character out or take control of him.
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw May 31, 2009, 01:28:23 PM
Copy pasta: Not to be annoying, but shouldn't I be able to pick up all of the pigmees/goblins/mutated capibaras within 60ft. thanks to my Blindsight mutation? :)

Any indication wether they're (extremely) hostile and/or dangerous?

: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw June 11, 2009, 02:12:00 PM
Bell hasn't been active in almost 2 weeks. I'm guessing he's just got too much work to take care of ATM...

Doesn't hurt to keep bumping though :P
: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell June 17, 2009, 08:57:22 PM
Wow, was it really over 2 weeks? Sorry about that guys.

Okay. there were reasons for my prolonged absence. It was the end of the school year, which means exams, moving out of my apartment, finding a new one for next year, (which still isn't done), and all kinds of other stuff.  Add to that that I'm working 40 hours a week at the Columbus Zoo and taking care of my family's 2 dogs while the rest of my family is on vacation, and that my computer and wireless router at home don't get along with each other very well,  and it becomes obvious that the internet has not been foremost in my mind. And for that I am sorry.

Also, thanks to j0lt for the birthday wishes.

Back to my posting habits.  I am working, as I said 40 or more hours a week at the zoo, which means I'm not going to update particularly often. (Not that I'm normally the model of regularity, but you know what I mean.) My days off are Wednesdays and Thursdays, so I promise that I will do my best to move it along on those days as regularly as possible throughout the summer.  Once September hits, school will start up again, and then it will probably be back to spurts of posting like it has been for the last 6 months. (Wow. It really has been about 6 months. I didn't realize that until just now.)

So, There should be a post up shortly.

And while I'm thinking about it, yes Bowen, you should be able to sense where all the creatures are. And in fact you can, I just forgot that you had that mutation.

: j0lt June 18, 2009, 12:32:10 AM
Hey, even one or two updates a week would be cool!  Good luck finding the apartment!

What J0lt said :D

Good luck :)
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw June 25, 2009, 02:17:03 PM
So, seeing as this is thursday...

;)

Any indication wether the 'natives' are hostile? If so we should probably beat them to it and throw the first punch, so to speak. Unless Nanshork wants to try and see if David can communicate with them (Nanshork should be back by saturday IIRC). Any way we can communicate with the little buggers, Bell? Maybe capture one to give us some more info about what's going on here?

If communication isn't an option, well, I guess we'll have to resort to tooth, claw and lead :smirk
: Re: C24 HQ
: Nanshork June 28, 2009, 01:37:21 AM
I'm back, fyi.

Edit: I have a problem.  I just accidentally deleted David's character sheet when I wasn't paying enough attention and I don't have a backup.   What do you want me to do?
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw June 28, 2009, 06:19:24 AM
You what? :twitch

Personally I'd say rebuild him. You probably still remember the basics, right?
: Re: C24 HQ
: Nanshork June 28, 2009, 06:25:25 AM
I created a blank character sheet named "d" to take a look at how they did a 4E character sheet.  Instead of deleting d I deleted David.  I remember what class progression I had and my race.
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw June 28, 2009, 06:45:39 AM
I definitely remember these things:

-Corporal
-Charismatic Hero
-Field Officer Advanced Class from D20 Future
-Quick Reload feat
-Weapon: Beretta M9, 9mm ammo, 2d6 damage, crit on 20, 40' range, magazine box of 15, purchase DC 17, licensed

Hope that helps at least somewhat...
: Re: C24 HQ
: j0lt June 28, 2009, 12:46:14 PM
You can probably mine the main game thread to find your stats by checking your rolls for the character, as well as what skills and feats you may have had.
: Re: C24 HQ
: Nanshork June 28, 2009, 04:39:45 PM
I PM'd Bell, we'll see what he wants me to do.
: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell July 01, 2009, 05:05:46 AM
hmm.... one, sorry about the week off. (more computer problems. I'm working on fixing them, and I'll try to let it affect the game less)

two, about david...  that is seriously sucky. well, the only solution I can see is for david to die and you to leave the game. sorry. How about sudden malaria that leaves you crippled and useless.

: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell July 01, 2009, 05:05:58 AM
That was a joke. I think the suggestions thus far have been good ones. check the rolls you've made, mine the other threads, and just rebuild it as best as you can. It doesn't have to be exactly the same, just close enough.

Also, I'll post in the game thread tomorrow, but I need to sleep now, it's 3:00 am here.

: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell July 04, 2009, 12:19:41 AM
yeah... I bought Fallout 3 as a birthday present to myself on Wednesday... sorry. But I'm writing the post now, so it will be up soon.

To Bowen's questions: You can certainly attempt to communicate. That would be a very noble thing to do. Keep in mind that the creatures, which you may soon discover are not human, nor from the planet earth, did just see you come through a portal that was also built by some non-human, possibly alien creatures. and those two non-human races may be at war...

Oh, wait, you didn't know all of that yet, so you couldn't keep that in mind.  Ooops.... Cat's out of the bag.
: Re: C24 HQ
: BowenSilverclaw July 04, 2009, 05:57:59 AM
:D

Okay, Nanshork should be able to help with that once he's got David's sheet put back together :)

EDIT: Okay, negotiations are off, noone takes of my ear, not even some freaky space-kobolds :fu

David's back up!
: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell July 07, 2009, 12:59:42 AM
excellent.

Also, map tomorrow evening. (probably about this time.)

Also also, don't worry about initiative. For PbP, we'll each just post once a round when we happen to check it. that way we'll only have to wait once for a specific person (whoever is last) instead of for every single person.

Bell hasn't been on since September, I have no idea why this game is active.
: Re: C24 HQ
: Bell December 29, 2010, 11:08:20 AM
well, to answer that, i asked that it be made active again to start it up, but even though it was active no one could post in the threads, so after checking it regularly for a while and seeing no change in the fact that i couldn't post in it, i stopped checking. however, since it is now postable, (i should have checked more often) i would still like to restart this game.
