: Diablo 2 - LoD or Classic Ladder
: Dictum Mortuum October 01, 2008, 04:01:41 PM
Hey there. Is anyone playing d2 on europe ladder? I am too bored by myself :/ :p

I have the game, but I've never played on the ladder.

Never really got into it.

Well, it's the same thing. You just have additional benefits (runewords and some unique items).

Except you constantly have to start over, which means doing the same shit you've already done.

In other news, I now have outspammed AC. :P

What do you mean by starting over?

If memory serves me well, the ladder resets after a certain time. Imagine you are on hardcore, and you know at a certain time you will die and lose everything, and there is nothing you can do to avoid it.

Thats ladder  :D

People still play D2? Wow, thats going back a bit...

Periodic wipe? Oh crap...

IIRC, the ladder resets every so often to give more people a chance to run up to the top...

But that might be giving it an unfair(ly positive) assessment.

First of all, DM, I'm on USEast. You should move over there. ;) Irthos and I are both on that (Bobismyrhino, too, iirc).

Second, the important thing to note about ladder is that it doesn't actually RESET. Ladder characters actually just get moved to non-ladder when it resets, and they take all their awesome shit off the ladder, too. So it's actually not bad to play it.

Last of all, Sunic, I don't spam. ;) You do. :P

First of all that's right. You don't lose anything of your characters, they just move to non-ladder.
Second - i am interested in moving, but i don't want to lose my awesome characters :P
Damn :p

I'm on USWest, and while my characters aren't awesome (all I've got is an 80ish Trang Summoner that I could probably do better with on a second go-around anyway) I'm hesitant to leave because of all I've managed to do there (I actually have a decent anni, a low torch, and some very useful low sets for starting new characters).  That said, I have nobody to play with.  :(

That was terrible.

I just play offline these days, with friends and family. Still fun.

Thank God I'm already in the East...

While i don't have an anni yet, i do have several 85+ characters: a javazon, a trapsin, a hammerdin, a lightning sorceress and a orb/wirewall/ES sorceress. And also several mules full of stuff :P (HoZ, torches, several mid-high runes :P). I'm just too involved to pass.

I could however make an account on your server just for fun.

Anni's aren't that expensive.  I found an SoJ and traded that for mine (18-11 or something I think it is).

The highest ring i have is a bul-kathos, no SoJ for me yet :P
But annis are generally not that expensive, that's true. To tell the truth, i'm not really after one. My dream is that superior archon plate enigma :P

Help!
The massive ban wave has caught me, but i have safely muled most of my items (don't ask :p).
Problem is, my cd-keys got temp banned for 30 or so days. Is there any kind person out there to lend me a pair of cd-keys so that my mules won't expire :love ? I won't be needing them after the temp ban is lifted of course.

Was just using d2loader to mule safely :(
apparently loader alone can get you banned.

Huh.  Never heard of that happening.  Well, they do have a thing against third-party software.  Juss' sayin.

Damn... I'm actually gonna have to hunt for that CD-Key, I'm not sure what I did with the d2 box after I got it.  You playin LoD or just Classic?

Blizz just temp-banned 350,000 accounts from battle.net for hacking their accounts.

Can't believe I posted half a sentence there.
