: AfterCrescent July 17, 2008, 01:31:11 AM
There are plenty of games open now, and more so starting up soon.  Inevitably, there will be open slots appearing in games as characters either die or real life steals them away.

This thread will serve as a bulletin board for those games. Whenever a game has an open slot, a GM may post in this thread.

Please note the game (preferably with a link) and any character creation/background information needed.

Players, please PM the GM if interested.  GMs, please edit the post when the space has been filled, both so players don't waste their time and so your inbox does not get flooded.

Please only post in this thread if you are currently running a game and have an open space to fill.

Open slot for Heroic Origins (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=398.0)

A good/neutral aligned CO game.
Houserules can be found in this thread (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=400.0)

Character Creation Basics:
Level 1
200 gold
36 Point Buy
No Multi-class XP penalties
2 flaws max - and they will be relevant
1 trait max
Tell me what source you're using for what
We're not upgrading to 4e!

Don't be a Douche.

The party has been recruited to investigate the murder of a woodsman in the Aged Forest.  It is possible this murder was done by the Mad Mage, Silkur.

The new player would be replacing Turen, a Whisper Gnome Rogue. The new player can choose to either take over Turen (I think DavetheMagicWeasel had a level 20 plan around these boards somewhere) or make a new character.

PM me (aftercrescent) if interested.

Slot filled. Thanks.

I need someone to run some combat for the Pbp campaign I am running for the next few weeks. I will be otherwise unreachable for the period from July 20th to August 10th, with a few days in between that I am here. I would supply all the encounters and the map and all, I would just need you to control monsters, transition between rooms, etc. I would prefer not to put the campaign off. Click here (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?board=31.0) for the campaign.

CO Gestalt Eberron Game:

Game wiki:

Statistically, we're gonna lose someone fairly frequently.
By the time someone new is in, we'll probably need to fill a different seat, so consider this an "Open Invitation".

Come visit, and post your interest in the "Open Invitation" thread.

: Ephemera Re-recuitment
: AndyJames September 24, 2008, 07:05:22 PM
Hi, guys.

Due to some no-shows, the Ephemera campaign is looking for extra people. The game has started, and we are looking for another 2-3 players. There are opportunities to slot players into the game during the entire prologue part of the game, which should be a while longer.

All the preliminary discussions are here:
http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=1199.0

The basic summary is:
36 PB
Level 6 start
Gestalt (sum of BAB compared and sum of saves compared from either side; better one taken)
Standard WBL
Good-aligned campaign (i.e., no Evil or Chaotic Stupid)

Watch out for the books allowed and spell changes and Spellcasting Difficulty mechanic.

The Penultimate Showdown of Moderate Destiny (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=2483.0) is always looking for players.

It's freeform, so no worries about building characters.

Hi all,

[D&D 3.5] Mediterranean Plotluck (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=4558.0) is looking for more interested players before starting.

D&D in Ancient Greece!*

edit: As of June 1st, 2009 we've reached our starting limit.

FR: The Darkening is always in semi-recruiting state. There were several additional applications already, but they jumped ship before starting. We currently have four players. I have room for one to two more, depending on whether they start out individually or look to quickly join some other players in an ongoing storyline.

All relevant campaign information can be found here:
http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=809.0

Of course, feel free to read the stories ongoing, currently there are three threads, two of which are private, and hence should not be read. This is a slow-moving game. Expect one post to take a little more time to compose than in other games, but you won't need to make many posts, sometimes it's as little as one per week, although more is always welcome.
This is intended to be a dynamic campaign, which means there is no set plot you have to follow, of course there will be a series of over-arching events, and I will create sub-plots and hooks based on that as well as player input.

Both open slots are closed or reserved right now, but if someone drops out or doesn't show, I'll open them again.

Inquiring as to interest in a playtest rather than a game. Heavily modded rules, 3.5, E6, books controlled, starting out as an NPC class with retraining rules in effect. Short, a little RP, a dungeon, and the option to continue if it becomes a real campaign. Warning, some comic references and weirdness will come out since I can't resist.

Bob, the other side of space.

PM me if your interested, and I'll add you to the list of people receiving the rules. Thanks.

Referred by Prime32. Looks like most of these are full. ld like to play in a 3.5 game, preferrably non-gestalt, and interrested in Eberron and FR mostly...

Thanks for your consideration!

Once again, I'm opening recruitment for this long running, yet slow-progressing game:

FR: The Darkening is looking for 1-3 new players! Please only dedicated applicants. CO-level is medium/high, but no REAL cheese is present as of yet. It's a high roleplaying game, too, not a dungeon-crawl.

Lots of house-rules, and everything can be found here:
http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=809.0

Please don't read the private messages in the game posts.

Basically I'm looking for people who would like to play a monstrous character, but all kinds of characters are welcome.

Any applicants please PM me with a character concept.

I now have enough applicants. Unless people drop out again this game is full for a while.

My game, titled Fear the Unknown (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=8355.0), is searching for four players, all of which are happy to play 10th level clerics, and are willing to contribute a lot sandbox-wise.

See the post below, though...

My original game overfulfilled its quota, and as a result, we are now seeking a DM, plus possibly one more player, to run a second copy. If anyone is interested, please contact me via PM, or post in our thread (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=8355.0).

FR - The Darkening (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?board=38.0) is once again looking for ONE new player.

What I expect is:
- dedication. Please only apply if you both have the time and are willing to commit to a LONG-RUNNING game! The game has been going for two years now.
- willingness to write posts in good prose, this is a high roleplaying game, after all
- willingness to read through and incorporate my extensive house-rules. these will enable you to play a character normally outside the scope of the game. The goal is making workable monstrous characters.

Important information is in the House-rules thread. When you read up on the game please don't read threads or spoilers marked as Private.

I have two options open:

Either take over a PC whose player dropped out. This is a very interesting character, but I realize that taking a character over carries all kinds of pitfalls. I'll try to help you over them, and explain most accurately what this guy was like, and what abilities he had.

Or make a new character within the guidelines of our game. In this case please PM me with a CONCEPT that mostly does not include mechanics, yet. Just find an image in your head about what the character should be like, and what he should be able to do. The starting level is up to 10, with XP half-way to 11. (In this game you CAN start at a lower level, if you are so inclined.) The goal is to really MAKE cool character concepts WORK mechanically.

Dungeon Delver's Delight (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?board=136.0) has a single slot open, due to RL striking.

There are two choices presently, taking over the character that has been left or making a new one. The second option has an undefined joining point, due to the game concept.

Looking for one more adventurer to join three others. I'm running a d20 modern campaign, it's zombie apocalypse themed. The game has begun but I would like to work in another character if possible. If you interested in playing just check out the main board and character guidelines and post in the out of chatter board.

Let you know if a spot opens again.
The Maker's Crown (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?board=118.0), a DnD 4E game set in Eberron and currently using the Keep on the Shadowfell module (with Eberron conversion materials) as the first leg of the campaign, currently has up to two spots one spot open.

I know 4E isn't very popular among the old guard here, but we've had a surge in new members lately so maybe someone is still interested. :D

Standard rules apply for 1st level character generation, including Regional benefits. Regions include those in the Eberron Player's Guide, and modifications can be made to allow those in Scales of War and general ones from Dragon Magazine, and even those from Forgotten Realms Player's Guide. All content is open for this setting, so long as you pass it by me first.

Current player characters include a Tiefling Paladin, Eladrin Swordmage, Githyanki Artificer, and a Half-Elf Bard (edit) and a halfling sorcerer (so, two defenders, two leaders, and one striker).
All spots filled.

I would like to post another opening for my game:

FR - The Darkening (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?board=38.0)

What I would like very much is a neutral or evil FEMALE character, at beast played by a female player, or someone who seriously looks into the female aspects, and doesn't just do it for the T&A.
